01Our Approach

We combine identity verification, device and behaviour signals, transaction monitoring, payment partner controls and trained staff to stop fraud before it causes loss. We take a zero-tolerance position on fraud committed by users, staff or partners.

02Types of Fraud We Guard Against

  • Account takeover and credential theft, including phishing and SIM-swap attacks.
  • Payment fraud, such as stolen cards, chargeback abuse and fake transfer receipts.
  • Identity fraud, including use of another person's NIN or documents.
  • Promotion and referral abuse using multiple or fake accounts.
  • Card misuse, including virtual dollar card testing or unauthorised merchant use.
  • Social engineering of customers or staff, including impersonation of jetazap.

03Preventive Controls

  • Email, phone and NIN verification tiers (see our KYC Policy).
  • One-time codes and, where available, extra authentication for sensitive actions.
  • Device and login monitoring, with alerts for unusual sign-ins.
  • Velocity and amount limits on funding, transfers and card use.
  • Real-time screening of transactions with our payment partners.
  • Encryption of data in transit and role-based access to internal systems.
  • Staff training and segregation of duties for payment operations.

04What You Can Do

  • Use a strong, unique password and never share it, your OTP or your card details.
  • jetazap will never ask for your password, PIN or OTP, by call, chat, SMS or email.
  • Only sign in through usejeta.com.ng or the official jetazap app.
  • Freeze your virtual dollar card immediately if you notice anything unusual.
  • Check your transaction history regularly and report anything you do not recognise.
  • Keep your phone number and email secure; contact your network if you lose your SIM.

05Reporting Suspected Fraud

Report suspected fraud as soon as possible to support@usejeta.com.ng with your account email, the transaction reference and a short description. For unauthorised card activity, freeze the card first, then contact us.

We investigate reports promptly, may restrict affected accounts or transactions during the investigation, and will update you as far as we lawfully can.

06Our Response to Confirmed Fraud

  • Freezing or closing accounts and cancelling pending orders.
  • Withholding, reversing or recovering funds obtained through fraud, to the extent the law allows.
  • Reporting to law enforcement, regulators and payment partners.
  • Pursuing civil or criminal action where appropriate.

07Internal Fraud and Whistleblowing

Staff and contractors must report suspected fraud or misconduct to the Compliance Officer or management. Reports made in good faith are treated confidentially and no one will be penalised for raising a genuine concern.
